A recent talk with a dear friend led me to think about what I wanted my life to stand for, and how I would like to be remembered by those around me.

This led me to an interesting thought experiment - if you could pick 3 words that you want others to associate with you, what would they be? Let me know what yours are, and why so, in your comments below.

Upon reflection, I was surprised that I settled on my top 3 words fairly immediately and unambiguously - several years back, I probably would not have been as certain. I feel it is as such, because of growing self-awareness that in my life, some themes keep surfacing and recurring, time after time. And, these overarching themes make up the 3 words that are the title of this blog post.

Connection

Demisexual and responsive libido - I’ve come to accept myself as such - someone that needs a real connection before any physical play (i.e. intimacy) can take place. Don’t get me wrong, I can give technically excellent sensual massages regardless, but, there is an added nuance and dimension that can only be uncovered when we both feel a connection.

Part of it, I believe, is a desire for meaning; For experiences to be more than a momentary, ‘flash-in-the-pan’, feel good feeling that vanishes over time. Instead, we remember our most mind-blowing moments because of that connection, the emotional intensity, the uniqueness of what was shared and, because we transcended pure hedonistic pleasure.

I’ve found some common themes that have long term meaning, such as: Contributing to each other's self-discovery journeys; Learning to accept and encourage each other; Being open and non-judgemental as we embrace mutual vulnerability - and wherein truly deep connection can occur.

Passion

My close friends can attest that, underneath a calm and collected exterior lies a very warm, beating heart - one that brims daily with inspiration, imagination and excitement - a.k.a. passion.

I do sometimes express a naive and childlike joy in seeing the world around us in fresh new ways. Some people might disparage this - why should a grown man still keep in touch with his inner child? I beg to differ and believe that there is value in remembering our roots; That innocence, a genesis for creative discoveries and endeavours.

Much of my learning journey, insights and discoveries about sensual massage and sensual dominance (amongst other things) have come from this state - I still find myself amazed and growing; Looking back, the me one year, three years and five years ago are so different!

I love to share this journey with others, because in so doing we all gain from it - win win at its best.

To me, life should be lived with passion, with joie de vivre - I hope this comes through in my writings, and, in my interactions with those around me.

Adventure

Isn’t life one long roller-coaster ride of an adventure? Good or bad, ups or downs, we are in a one-way ride that's ever changing.

In some way, we cannot choose the hand that life has dealt us with - but we all have control over our mindset and framing of what we experience.

I choose to view life as an adventure to experience, and to share this adventure with others, especially those that matter to me!

‘Building amazing memories one day at a time’ has been my mantra for at least the better part of half a decade, and, I like to think that I have amassed many, many, many, such memories that I hold close to my heart and hold dear.

For some of you reading this - you know how much you’ve already played a part in us making something special and irreplaceable, and for that I'm forever grateful. I want to make more.

For others, in living life forwards - I’m always looking forward to building that next great memory - perhaps it could be with you?
